Industries

Exemplary areas of application

Metal processing: Transportation of metal chips and punching waste for further processing or disposal in production lines.

Recycling: Handling and sorting of bulk materials such as metals, plastics or glass for recycling.

Automotive production: transportation of production waste and residual materials from manufacturing processes.

Mechanical engineering: Removal of workpieces and production residues from machining centers.

Energy generation: Extraction of biomass or residues in power plant processes for further processing.

Chemical industry: Safe movement of chemical bulk goods or production waste in special processes.

Heavy-duty and high-temperature applications: Transportation of hot, sharp-edged or oily products using robust steel chains for demanding industrial processes.

Plate types

Tear plate

Tear plate

The tear plate is used to transport sheet metal scrap or punching waste. Their rough surface effectively prevents small slugs from sticking to the hinge plates due to oil residue.
As an alternative to the tear plate, dimpled or humped smooth sheet metal can also be used.

Trough-shaped plate

Trough-shaped plate

Thanks to its trough-shaped design, the trough plate is statically more stable than a conventional hinged plate. The option of adjusting the gap between the sheet metal and the tubular sleeve enables an optimum configuration. Due to the strict requirements for the gap clearance, the troughed plate is also the preferred choice for transporting punching waste.

Plate made of smooth sheet metal

Plate made of smooth sheet metal

The hinged plate made of smooth sheet metal is used for transporting chips and piece goods such as forged parts.

Wire webbing

Wire webbing

Wire belt conveyors are an optimal solution for transporting hot forged and die-cast parts.

Questions & answers

FAQ: Frequently asked questions

How does a hinged belt conveyor work?

Hinged belt conveyors transport materials via robust hinged plates. The hinged plates consist of individual metal plates that are flexibly assembled using chain rods and connected via two external chain strands. A powerful drive, which transmits the power via the chain wheels, ensures smooth movement. If required, the conveyor speed can be infinitely adjusted using a frequency inverter. This ensures reliable material handling.

Hinged belt conveyors from KÖBO ECO>PROCESS impress with their adaptability and versatility, which is maximized by selecting the right type of panel. Each plate is specially tailored to different applications and requirements to ensure optimum results.

1. Tear plate

Advantages: The rough surface of the tear plate prevents the adhesion of small residues, such as slugs, and therefore reduces contamination during transportation. It is ideal for processes where the bonding of materials is a challenge.

Areas of application: Transport of sheet metal parts, punching waste or sheet metal scrap. Particularly suitable for environments with high demands on cleanliness and material separation.

2. Trough plate
Advantages: The trough-shaped design ensures increased stability compared to conventional hinge plates. The option of individually adjusting the gap size enables optimum configuration for different transport requirements.

Areas of application: Preferably used for transporting punching waste or materials that require high static stability. Particularly suitable for processes with strict gap dimension requirements.

3. Plate made of smooth sheet metal
Advantages: The smooth surface of the hinged plate made of smooth sheet metal enables flexible handling and ensures efficient material conveying without high demands on the gap dimension.

Areas of application: Ideal for transporting chips, forged parts or other piece goods that require easy handling and smooth conveying surfaces.

4. Wire belt
Advantages: The wire belt conveyor is the perfect solution for high-temperature applications. It enables the transportation of hot forged and die-cast parts and offers good heat dissipation thanks to its open structure.

Areas of application: Ideal for use in sorting systems and production lines where hot materials need to be conveyed continuously. Suitable as a single or system conveyor.
