A push rod conveyor, also known as a harpoon conveyor, is an established conveyor system for transporting tufted chips and large quantities of cooling lubricant. This conveyor system is an economical and reliable way of transporting material over long distances (up to 200 m per conveyor) and optimizing production processes. Our technology is based on moving push rods that are hydraulically excited within a stable trough construction. The material is conveyed in a controlled manner through a targeted forward and backward movement, ensuring uniform and trouble-free conveying. The robust design ensures high process reliability and efficient handling of different materials.

Structure
Our push rod conveyor has an adaptable cross-section, which means that the conveying capacity is optimally matched to the volume of chips and cooling lubricant generated in your production. Its structure is divided into several central components:

Trough construction with counter hooks: A robust collecting trough with integrated counter hooks ensures safe guidance of the push rod and prevents uncontrolled movement of the conveyed goods.

Push rod (harpoon rod): The specially developed push rod enables efficient transportation of small and tufted chips and ensures even material feed.
➔
Hydraulic unit: The hydraulic drive system ensures a controlled forward and backward movement of the push rod and ensures a constant delivery rate.

Mounting options: The conveyor can be flexibly mounted on the floor or ceiling, depending on the available space and requirements, so that the production area is optimally utilized.
Functionality
A hydraulic drive generates an alternating forward and backward movement of the push rod. This causes the chips to move gradually within the trough construction in the direction of the discharge.

A hydraulic cylinder moves the push rod back and forth in the conveyor trough.
➔
Drivers are attached to the force-guided push rod, which move the chip bundles in the conveying direction.
➔
During the backward stroke of the push rod, wall hooks hold the chips in place so that they do not slide back.
➔
Thanks to the special design of the trough with its adapted height and constant gradient, large quantities of cooling lubricant flow off efficiently in addition to the chips.
