Overview

Chip container: More than just a storage location

A chip container is a large-volume storage unit for metal chips that accumulate in metalworking companies. It collects, temporarily stores and forwards the swarf to disposal or reprocessing systems in a controlled manner. Thanks to its design, it enables structured and space-saving storage, reduces manual effort and optimizes disposal processes. An automated conveyor system integrates the chip container and thus optimizes the handling of the chips.

Our chip containers are available as individual bunkers or in a modular battery design to allow flexible adaptation to specific storage requirements. We also offer the complete steel structure, including safe access and maintenance walkways to ensure convenient and efficient maintenance and operation.

Application

When chips become a problem - the biggest challenges

Metalworking companies produce large quantities of metal swarf every day, which requires efficient storage and disposal. Inadequate storage leads to various challenges:

Space requirements: Unorganized storage takes up valuable production space.

Handling: Manual or unstructured processing of the chips leads to increased workload.

Disposal costs: Non-optimized processes can increase transport and recycling costs.

Safety risks: Uncontrolled chip storage entails potential hazards.

Companies are under increasing pressure to comply with stricter environmental regulations and higher safety standards. Efficient chip management solutions are required to meet emission requirements, minimize accident risks and ensure legally compliant disposal.

Structure

The chip container consists of a robust steel construction and can be individually adapted to a volume of up to 9 m³. If a larger storage capacity is required, several individual bunkers can be combined to form a modular unit. A vertical slide plate is located at the bunker outlet, which controls a precise lifting spindle with geared motor. This enables controlled emptying and efficient loading of the material onto trucks or wagons.

Functionality

A chip container collects metal chips from production, collects them in a closed system and passes them on to disposal or reprocessing systems in a controlled manner. Filling is usually carried out via upstream scraper conveyors, which ensure an even supply of material. By opening the pusher plate, the material flows out of the container via the sloping floor and goes directly onto trucks or wagons, enabling efficient and smooth disposal.

The advantages of a chip container

Cleanliness and safety

Closed storage minimizes chips and dust deposits, creating a hygienic and tidy working environment that reduces accidents.

Efficient chip processing

Structured collection and storage enable targeted preparation of the chips for further processing or disposal.

Sustainable use of materials

Separating the chips by type facilitates recycling, reduces material losses and promotes resource-saving processes.

Optimum machine utilization

A continuous and uniform chip feed increases the performance of presses and conveyor systems.

Precise material separation

Closable openings in the base of the scraper conveyor ensure that different types of chips are separated by type.

Accurate weight recording

An optional fully automatic weighing system enables the loading weight to be determined precisely.

Efficient loading technology

Electronically operated slide openings facilitate direct loading onto means of transport such as trucks or rail wagons.

Cost savings in personnel and disposal

Automated filling and emptying reduces personnel costs, while optimized collection volumes minimize disposal costs.
