Steel processing
Hinged belt conveyor for steel chips from peeling machines
Our customer
Steel processing company operating two production lines equipped with peeling machines.
Our solution
We designed and supplied a conveyor system with hinged belt conveyors and a coolant pump station for chip removal from two production lines equipped with peeling machines. The system transports the steel chips to the container loading station.
A particular requirement was handling chips generated when machining steels with high material hardness. The conveyor design accounts for the resulting mechanical loads. Special belt plates also support rapid drainage of the coolant carried with the chips.
The system therefore combines steel chip conveying with the handling of coolant from the peeling process.
Customer benefits
Coolant drainage during chip conveying
The special belt plate design supports rapid drainage of the coolant carried with the chips. This can help reduce the amount of fluid entering the container together with the steel chips.
Designed for demanding steel chip handling
The conveyor system is designed for chips generated when machining steels with high material hardness. Its construction takes account of the mechanical loads and chip removal requirements of the peeling machines.
