A folding belt filter is more than a space-saving filtration system: it is a practical solution for industrial coolant filtration. Contaminated coolant is cleaned automatically without requiring extensive installation space or manual intervention. The hinged upper chamber provides quick access to the filter belt and internal components, making maintenance and servicing considerably easier. The KÖBO ECO>PROCESS folding belt filter is a compact variant of the pressure belt filter for fully automatic coolant filtration. Its hinged upper chamber provides quick access to the filter belt and internal components for maintenance and cleaning.With a filter area of 1.5 m² and a flow rate of 50 to 2,000 l/min, the system is particularly suitable for limited installation spaces, retrofits and both central and decentralised filtration systems. Each folding belt filter is configured for the fluid, particle load, required filtration fineness and available installation space.

How the folding belt filter works: Filtration and regeneration

Contaminated coolant is pumped into the upper dirt chamber of the folding belt filter. Under controlled positive pressure, the fluid passes evenly through the filter belt or filter fleece. Solid particles are retained on the filter medium and form a filter cake, which further improves particle separation.

The filtered fluid collects in the filtrate chamber below and is then returned to the production process. A sensor monitors the differential pressure and therefore the saturation level of the filter medium. Once the specified threshold is reached, filtration stops and regeneration begins automatically. Compressed air dewaters the filter cake, which is then discharged mechanically while a fresh section of filter medium is drawn in.

The hinged upper chamber provides quick access for servicing and significantly reduces downtime. Thanks to its compact design, the folding belt filter can be integrated flexibly into existing systems, making it particularly suitable for retrofits and restricted installation spaces.
