Precoat filters are highly effective at removing fine impurities from liquids. A filter aid such as diatomaceous earth, kieselguhr, cellulose or perlite forms an effective filter layer on the filter cartridges for depth filtration. This technology removes even the smallest particles from the liquid and offers a reliable solution for processes with high purity requirements.

The filter consists of a robust steel housing that guarantees high pressure resistance and durability. The use of filter cartridges and the very fine-pored, uniformly precoated layer of filter aid achieves fine particle separation, which removes even the smallest impurities. The integrated backwash mechanism ensures continuous filter performance and extends the service life of the system.

Functionality

The precoat filter works in several steps to efficiently remove impurities from liquids while ensuring easy maintenance. The process includes the following steps:

  • Precoating: A filter aid (e.g. kieselguhr, kieselgel, cellulose or perlite) is applied evenly to the filter cartridges.
  • Feed: The liquid to be filtered enters at the bottom of the filter and flows through the filter layer and upwards to the dome cover in the inner part of the candles.
  • Filtration: The purified filtrate emerges from the upper dome cover.
  • Monitoring: If the differential pressure or the filter time is exceeded, backwashing is activated automatically.
  • Washout: The contaminated filter aid is discharged into the washout tank together with the dirt and the coolant of the dominate and the sludge is fed from there to further secondary treatment.

The precoat filter is ideal for ultra-fine cleaning of liquids in various industrial processes. Important areas of application include

  • Fine filtration of cooling lubricants (oil): For cleaning cooling lubricants in machining processes such as grinding, honing, finishing, lapping or eroding.
  • Metalworking: For the filtration of liquids in rolling and pressing processes in metalworking.

  • Water treatment: For ultra-fine filtration of water and aqueous solutions in water treatment.
